The catamarans exist for a long time in the charter business and regular public would no longer be impressed by the enormous spaces and amenities they offer.
Nevertheless, they continue to impress, especially in cases like that of Elvira, which the designer has managed to dramatically add more space and comfort in a Catamaran that is 50 feet long.
Lagoon Catamarans all have one common feature: the fly bridge. There, both the captain and the passenger have views of both the enjoys of sailing and the deep blue. There, only hearing the wind and the waves you can enjoy the views & the route to your next destination. The numbers are often misleading: The Elvira may be "only" 51 feet but it is a Catamaran. It has a great sail area, speed and huge spaces. One can safely say that the spaces are equal and larger than a 75 ft monohull’s. In short tacks, and 20 miles air, the Elvira sailed with a comfortable 10 + mile road with the stability and comfort of a ferry boat! In case of no wind, the two machines easily manage to get passengers to their destination as quickly and comfortably.
The word «Lagoon» brings to mind an image of calmness and coolness at the same time. These are what one feels when sitting in the living room of the vessel. The sunshades do not allow direct contact to sunlight, keeping the space cool but nevertheless the cleverly designed windows offer incredible views of the person who chooses to enjoy the journey through the living room.
Accordingly all the cabins are very spacious combining the modern with the classic comforts with hotel amenities at the highest level. The Elvira, is really a craft crossroads: It offers the comforts of a big motor yacht, but without its enormous costs. It offers the sense of a sailing boat, but with much faster speeds.
