012. Rental motorsailer 70 ft VA.RA - Imperia |
|
This is a solid, comfortable gaff ketch motorsailer carvel-built from teak planking on an oak frame then rove and clench-fastened. Her first owner was R. H. Turner who sailed the two-master between England and the French Atlantic coast. Between 1992 and 2000, Valdora was given a major refit and a bowsprit was added which partly modified her sail plan. In 2008, she sailed from Dartmouth to the Mediterranean. From her base in Imperia, she cast off with her new Lake Como owner on a series of cruises to Sardinia, Corsica and the Upper Tyrrhenian, proving herself a superb long-distance yacht. In 2010, she also participated in Le Vele d’Epoca at Imperia. |
